The UN, the governments of France and Peru and major business organizations today added more data to the climate action portal, NAZCA, that clearly demonstrates how leading cities, regions, companies and investors are acting to protect the climate and build resilience. This information adds crucial momentum to global efforts to reach an effective new, universal climate change agreement in Paris in December of this year.

The latest data includes 769 commitments from companies, investors, and cities including five new cooperative initiatives (the Africa Clean Energy Corridor Initiative, Caring For Climate, the en.lighten Initiative, the Oil & Gas Methane Partnership and the SIDS Lighthouses Initiative), 20 new signatories to the Compact of Mayors, 3 new signatories to the Montréal Carbon Pledge, and 1 new signatory to Science-based targets.

In addition, the UN Global Compact has been taken on as a data partner, providing an additional option for companies and investors to register their commitments on NAZCA.

The NAZCA portal, which is capturing commitments to act on climate change that can also be independently assessed, aims to add many more signatories in the lead-up to the Paris climate negotiations.

Join the NAZCA initiatives.

The huge groundswell of climate action also supports the Lima to Paris Action Agenda, which aims at demonstrating the commitment of non-state actors to reaching a new and ambitious legal agreement in 2015
