On Wednesday, 14 January 2015, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius presented the logo of this year's UN Climate Change Conference in Paris (COP21/CMP11, 30 November to 11 December).

During the presentation to the press, the French minister underlined the “ambitious but necessary” objective of the conference, which is to limit the global average temperature rise to a maximum of 2 degrees Celsius. Mr. Fabius also said that the French Government is preparing the conference in “unprecedented” close cooperation with the Peruvian government as the Presidency of last year's COP20 in Lima, and with civil society.

The 2015 UN Climate Change Conference will take place in the convention center Le Bourget in París, and will assemble the 196 Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The French government expects that around 40,000 people will attend the meeting, including around 3,000 journalists. The French Foreign Affairs Minister also said that COP 21 would be an example of an environmentally sustainable event.
