To discuss potential ways to enhance capacity-building activities, representatives of Parties, international organizations, civil society and members of bodies established under the Convention are convening a workshop on Saturday, 17 October 2015, in Bonn, Germany.

The workshop is open to all participants attending the October UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn (ADP 2.11, 19 to 23 October) and will address two main issues:

1) Current efforts by entities delivering capacity-building activities in developing country Parties under and outside the Climate Change Convention, and relevant gaps and needs that have emerged.

2) How institutional arrangements, including bodies established under the Convention, can enhance the capacity of developing country Parties to plan, develop and implement adaptation, mitigation and technology development and transfer actions.

The venue of the workshop is room 2105 of the Langer Eugen Building on the UN Campus in Bonn, Germany. The time is 13:00-18:00, CEST.

Please send an email to CapacityBuilding@unfccc.int to pre-register. The registration desk at the workshopwill be open as of 12:00.

The workshop was mandated by the Subsidiary Body for Implementation at its forty-second session to be held in conjunction with the eleventh part of the second session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action.
