The UN, the governments of France and Peru and major business organizations have added 2245 commitments to the climate action portal, NAZCA.

This constitutes the largest single release of such information to date and clearly demonstrates how leading cities, regions, companies and investors are acting to protect the climate and build resilience. It also adds crucial momentum to global efforts to reach an effective new, universal climate change agreement in Paris in December of this year.

The information includes individual commitments, plus a new batch of data from 374 signatories to the Covenant of Mayors. Overall, 353 new cities, 3 new regions, 619 new companies and 78 new investors have been added.

The NAZCA portal captures commitments to act on climate change that can also be independently assessed. The huge groundswell of climate action also supports the Lima to Paris Action Agenda, which aims at demonstrating the commitment of non-state actors to reaching a new and ambitious legal agreement in 2015.
