UN Climate Change
On 21 April, one day ahead of the signing of the Paris Climate Change Agreement, the President of the General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft has convened a high-level thematic debate on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The debate was designed to highlight the strong inter-linkages between the broader framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement.
Discussions took place the whole day of 21 April in a special digital media zone at UN headquarters in New York.
As a highlight of the debate, UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres and COP21 President Ségolène Royal moderated a discussion on climate change and the global goals, between 11:30 and 12:00 pm EST.
