On Friday 20 May 2016, the Durban Forum on Capacity-building will convey its 5th meeting aimed at outlining a clear path to enhance the capacity of developing country Parties in effectively implementing the Paris Agreement.

In the context of the ongoing UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, the meeting will provide a platform for various stakeholders including representatives of developed and developing country Parties, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, the private sector, local government and municipal authorities and the youth to share experiences, good practices and lessons learned and exchange views in the context of capacity-building for the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

Special attention will be given to capacity-building related to nationally determined contributions (NDCs), capacity needs for accessing financial resources and for transparency, and ways to enhance means of implementation  so that developing countries can address emerging needs and challenges.
