The Taxis4SmartCities Initiative gathers companies willing to accelerate the energy transition of their vehicle fleet by 2020 and 2030. "Each company undertakes to ensure that 33% to 50% of the new vehicles entering their fleet emit less than 60g of CO2 per Km by 2020 at the latest, and even 100% emit less than 20g of CO2 per Km by 2030". This commitment fosters the best effort by every company and spread the word amongst taxi sector of the necessity to move forward faster towards cleaner vehicles.

Means to achieve the objective:

Companies accept common objectives, and will define an action plan and monitor their results. Thus, different levels of commitment have been defined in order to comply with each company's capacity, which depends on its activity (manufacturer, cooperative, fleet owner, intermediary platform), on the current emissions level of its fleet, on its financing capacity or on the existing infrastructure in its country.
