NAZCA Registers Commitments to Climate Action by Companies, Cities, Subnational Regions and Investors

The Non-State Actor Zone for Climate Action (NAZCA) was launched at the UN climate change conference in Lima and registers commitments to action by companies, cities, subnational regions, and investors to address climate change.

A large number of the commitments captured in NAZCA are also brought together on a global scale under the Lima-Paris Action Agenda (LPAA), which involves both state and non-state actors and aims to accelerate cooperative climate action now and into the future and in support of the new, universal climate change agreement which governments will reach in Paris, in December.

Anyone who registers in NAZCA is also encouraged to join one of the many initiatives under the Lima-Paris Action Agenda, which can be found on the LPAA website. The LPAA is triggering a growing engagement of actors to build concrete, ambitious and lasting cooperative initiatives to take climate action, which also offer many environmental and business benefits to those involved.

A detailed introduction to NAZCA follows.

Data partners

Information relating to the commitments recorded on this website has been provided by our core data partners: CDP, carbonn Climate Registry, The Climate Group, the Investors on Climate Change, and the UN Global Compact. These partners have been selected due to an established track record of data management and assessment and due to the fact that they can track commitments over time to ensure progress. In order to provide diverse options for entities, the addition of new data partners will be explored that have established data management and assessment processes and capabilities to track progress over time.
