C40 Chair and Rio de Janeiro mayor Eduardo Paes announced his city’s full compliance with the Compact of Mayors, a global coalition of city leaders dedicated to reducing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Compact participants make urban communities more resilient to climate change and regularly report their progress publicly. Rio is the first city in the world to reach the compliance milestone.
