UN Climate Change
To be added.
Governments and relevant stakeholders are stepping up capacity building at the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn with an event on 10 May designed to exchange information, good practices and lessons learned on ways to increase capacities for adaptation to implement national adaptation plans and national climate action plans (Nationally Determined Contributions, or "NDCs").
The event - the 6th meeting of the Durban Forum on Capacity-building - will feature panel, plenary and group discussions with the participation of experts, practitioners and representatives of non-governmental and inter-governmental institutions engaged in providing support to developing countries on adaptation action at the national and regional levels.
The outcomes of the meeting will be considered by the Paris Committee on Capacity-building during its first meeting, with a view to ensuring complementarity between the Durban forum and the Committee, as requested by governments. The outcomes will be captured in a report which will inform negotiations on capacity-building at the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn in November (COP23).
The 6th meeting of the Durban Forum is open to all registered participants of the Bonn Climate Change Conference. The draft programme of the meeting and other information on this event are available here
