On 24 and 25 May, two all-day Technical Expert Meetings (TEM) on adaptation will take place during the Bonn climate change conference, discussing how to reduce vulnerability and mainstream climate change adaptation and which role national adaptation plans (NAPs) can play in this regard. The meetings will feature high-level guests such as French ambassador Laurence Tubiana and Moroccan ambassador Aziz Mekouar.
The first day will focus on enhancing the implementation of adaptation action, while the second day will elaborate on effective policy frameworks for adaptation planning and implementation.
Enhanced action prior to 2020
The Technical Expert Meetings are part of the Technical Examination Process on Adaptation, a hallmark of the Paris outcome, which endeavors to identify concrete opportunities to enhance adaptation on the ground. This process seeks to officially bring on board the voice of the private sector, civil society and other relevant stakeholders into the formal international discourse on adaptation.
During the meetings, participants will be able to pose questions via the audience interaction tool sli.do. It is not required to create an account, simply visit sli.do, using your smartphone, tablet or laptop, on the day of the event and log in by using the event code #TEMA.
