Solar Sister is an innovative social enterprise with the mission to achieve sustainable, scalable impact at the nexus of women’s empowerment, energy poverty and climate change.

Using a micro-entrepreneur model, Solar Sister gives African women a 'business in a bag', a start-up kit of clean energy products like solar-powered products for lighting and charging mobile phones, and clean cookstoves. They also provide the training, mentoring and marketing support to bring clean energy directly to their customer’s doorstep. As one person put it, Solar Sister is the 'Avon' of clean energy.
